The future of our forests is something that concerns us and we believe that we should not turn our backs on the problem of indiscriminate logging<\/strong>\u00a0that affects our ecosystem, in other words, trees and vegetation are being cut down at a faster rate than the forests are able to regenerate themselves.<\/p>\n

Deforestation contributes to climate change<\/strong> in many regions and to the extinction of protected animal species. It also creates a health problem<\/strong> due to increased difficulty in absorbing the planet’s carbon dioxide. Trees and plants are the lungs of our planet, absorbing carbon dioxide and converting it into oxygen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What is PEFC?<\/strong><\/p>\n

PEFC is the most established forest certification system in the world<\/strong>. The aim of PEFC is to ensure that forests are managed responsibly, and are protected for the future.<\/p>\n

PEFC<\/strong> provides the framework for the application of internationally agreed common standards to all its national certification schemes, forest managers and forest product processors.<\/p>\n

Products of forest origin (wood, paper, cork, mushrooms, resins, essences…) certified by PEFC<\/strong> guarantee consumers that they are buying products from sustainably managed forests.<\/p>\n

Buyers who choose the PEFC system are fighting for and promoting forest resources such as:<\/p>\n

  • Contributing to the maintenance of numerous ecosystems and biological diversity.<\/li>\n
  • Being the economic support for many rural populations and the source of a very important transforming industry.<\/li>\n
  • Having an increasingly recognised social and cultural role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In order to certify the Sustainable Forest Management<\/strong> of a forest area, it is necessary to pass an audit process carried out by an Accredited Certification Body authorised to operate in Spain.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
